Amazon has one New group within AWS dedicated to creating AI agentsSystems that help people automate share their lives, Reuters reported Tuesday.
In an e-mail to the staff seeing by Reuters, Matt Garman, CEO of AWS, said that Agentic AI has the potential to be ‘the next multi-billion business for AWS’. An old AWS director who previously led the company’s AI and data teams, Swami Sivasubramanian, is said to Leiden the new Agentic Ai Group.
Amazon seems to be the newest company that participates in the shift from the technical industry to AI agents.
Last week, Amazon showed some agentic possibilities that would come to Alexa+, an updated version of the company’s consumer unit. In Demoes, Alexa+ was able to automatically book Ubers, navigate websites and complete other tasks that people would usually do themselves.
The AWS unit of Amazon is perhaps also interested in developing enterprise agents, competing with Salesforce and Microsoft to create AI systems that can automate work-related tasks for customers.
